UK Joins The Worldwide Digital Revolution

UK Digital Revolution

The UK government have announced plans to make ’so called’ super-fast internet access available anywhere in the UK. This will apparently transform the way that we use TVs, radios and computers.

I thought that this ‘digital revolution’ had been taking place for some time, but despite these new plans to create a high-speed internet and communications system, it’s likely to ruffle a few feathers because of the financial implications.

The report by Labour’s Lord Carter says that more than 15 million people currently don’t have access to the worldwide web. The new strategy will apparently be bankrolled by a £6 toll on every household’s phone bill.

It’s hoped that everyone will have access to broadband by 2012 and around 90 per cent of the country be linked to super-fast access via fibre optic cables by 2017.

All of this highlights the growing influence of the worlwide web and provides more evidence of the need for many of us to become more internet savvy.

While many people out there are struggling due to the recent economic downturn, opportunities are arising for anyone with the desire and motivation, to carve their own niche by using the latest technologies made possible by the worldwide web.

More millionaires per capita were created during the great depression than at any other time! So the current financial difficulties mixed with the worldwide digital revolution, means that now is a great time to learn about the internet.
