Three Tips For Working Online From Home

Andy Loverock

If you are anything like me, you may have periodically turned on your computer with a determination to find a reliable way of working online from home, with the intention of trying to earn a bit of extra cash. I did this for several years and could never really find anything that struck me as obvious, or that fitted in with my area of knowledge.

Working Online From Home

During one of my periods of search, I came across a pretty straight talking book that wasn’t trying to convince me to join the latest get-rich-quick scheme, but instead seemed to be promoting the enormous opportunity that exists to carve out a career working online.

This seemed to turn a light on for me and completely changed my approach. I was keen on having my own business and working online from home ticked plenty of boxes, but I had limited computer skills and even less understanding of what kind of opportunity I was looking for.

The answer was obviously to undergo a period of learning, just as anyone has to do when they take a new job. You can read about the vehicle I used in my post about the masters of internet marketing training academy, but the key for me was to learn new skills that fully prepared me.

If you’re keen on the idea of working online from home, before you do anything else consider these three tips. The first is to learn the basic skills that will enable you to find your own niche. The second is to learn the basic skills that will enable you to find your own niche and yes, you can guess the third.

Let me know how you get on, it’s fairly easy to find the training resources online, to learn about any topic and it would be good to hear your story.

What’s Your Relationship Marketing Strategy?

If you intend to build your own internet based business, you’ll almost certainly benefit from developing a good relationship marketing strategy. Instead of putting all your marketing efforts into generating income, try to offer value to your target market, readers and website visitors.

Relationship Marketing Strategy Benefits

One of the biggest obstacles you’ll face when you start promoting your products online is that many of the people you encounter will have got used to being offered a whole load of junk, false promises and low value products from some of your competitors.

There will be a certain amount of suspicion and scepticism about whether or not you will be able to deliver your promises. Relationship marketing strategies cut straight through this problem and will help you to build a following of loyal customers.

People tend to connect with other people and not hype filled sales copy that’s crying out for them to part with their hard earned cash. Responsive customers are born from conscious efforts by you as the business owner to build a solid relationship with them.

This forms the basis of any good relationship marketing strategy and can be much more effective than over enthusiastic persuasion techniques. If you’re still asking yourself “what is relationship marketing?” I’ll be making a free ebook available soon that gives a comprehensive overview.

For now, here are three basic principles that should be built into all relationship marketing strategies and although some of them might seem obvious, it’s amazing how many people fail to incorporate them into their marketing plans.

1, From the outset, make your potential customers aware of the benefits that you can provide for them, giving a clear and honest picture of the value you can offer. If you want them to respond to you in a positive way you need to give them what they want before you can expect them to have what you want them to have.

2, Try to make your potential customers feel like they can talk to you or communicate with you and show them in whichever way you can, that you care about what they have to say. The more that you can get people to communicate with you, the more they will feel like they know you and they can trust you.

3, Be yourself, let people see the real you. The more that you share your genuine thoughts and feelings, the more you will attract those who have learnt to trust you. As well as building successful marketing relationships with people, you also need to have the strength of mind to expect and accept that some people will reject you.

By applying these three principles to your relationship marketing strategy, you will be making it clear to people how your product or service can help them. You will gain their trust and gratitude for providing them with value and ultimately you will create a relationship that makes it easy for them to do business with you.

Creating Your Own Information Products

Information product marketing fits in well with the new shift towards technology and the new methods of marketing online. The greater focus on computer technology and the increased amount of people keen to learn new skills, means that by creating your own information products for a specific niche, and marketing them via the internet, you can build a very successful businesses.

Choosing Your Target Market or Niche

There are three main niches that account for the vast majority of information products and on the whole it’s best to focus on one of them if you’re creating your own information products. Each of them can be broken down into lots of very specific areas, there are a few examples below.

Finance/Business – saving money, debt management, self employment, starting a business

Health/Fitness – muscle building, dieting, wellness products, stress management

Dating/Relationship – finding the ideal partner, parenting skills, improving your marriage

Product Creation

There are a wide range of tools and resources for creating your own information products and the majority of them are inexpensive. The instructional material provided with most good resources means that there’s no real need for great knowledge or experience.

There are several things that you need to consider when you’re creating your own information products, not least the quality. The most successful
products usually provide information that offers a solution for a problem. Information that clearly has benefits for your target audience.

Crafting Your Sales and Marketing Projects

Once you have identified a niche and created your product, a suitable marketing strategy has to be developed. One that brings targeted traffic to your site and then converts the visitors into willing consumers of your product. This is perhaps the most difficult part of the equation, but achievable for anyone who’s prepared to research, learn and implement proven internet marketing techniques.

Targeting niche markets

Targeting Niche Markets

One very lucrative way to market online is by carefully targeting niche markets. I’m sure you’ve heard the term ‘niche market’ before, but what does it really mean?. In simple terms, it is a market that’s a sub-category of a much larger market.

Targeting niche markets means that you can usually avoid too much advertising competition, and find motivated buyers who are searching for exactly what you have to offer. If that sounds good, it’s made even better by the fact that there are thousands of untapped niches.

Finding such niche markets does mean carrying out some research, but it’s fairly easy to do and there are some excellent tools to help with both finding and targeting niche markets. One easy way to carry out some research is to look at what’s selling on eBay.

Once you’ve established a trend you can drill down deeper to find niche markets that can be targeted. Let’s say that you identify “christening gowns” as a popular market, by breaking it down to something like “silk christening gowns in Boston” you will find far less sites in direct competition with you.

The financial benefits of targeting niche markets can be significant, so it’s worth spending time to identify them. If you’re worried about narrowing your potential market by targeting specific niche markets, don’t! There’s plenty of evidence to show that niche marketing increases profits.

I’ll be providing a useful piece of free software soon that’s ideal for targeting niche markets very quickly so stay tuned. If targeting niche markets is something you’re keen to explore, visit Google Trends, Yahoo Buzz, and eBay Pulse who all provide some helpful data.

Masters of Internet Marketing Training Academy

Masters of Internet Marketing Training Academy

It always surprises me how many people enter the world of internet marketing without trying to find a suitable internet training course to prepare them for the journey ahead. I have to admit that I did the same myself and having spent the early days of my internet marketing career buying most things that were thrown at me (ring any bells?), it was more by luck than judgment that I managed to find an excellent online marketing course.

Before I could save myself, I had spent far more than I could afford at the time on a business opportunity that boasted an impressive list of services and training resources. Luckily for me, not only was it a very impressive collection of services, but the company providing them placed a large emphasis on training. This is highlighted by the recent launch of their highly successful Masters of internet marketing training academy.

Many established business owners pay for expensive websites without giving enough thought to the training needed to make their site profitable. A small investment on an internet training course prior to starting a web business can be extremely cost effective. If you’re serious about exploring web business opportunities, carry out some research and consider what sort of platform you need in order to achieve your goals. I would be interested to hear about any all-in-one training and resource platform that can match that offered by Breeze. Happy Hunting!
