Four Useful Tips For Social Media Marketers

Have you considered Social Media Marketing? Are you unsure about where to start?  These four useful tips should help you to understand some of the fundamentals so that you can start to make good use of this increasingly popular marketing technique.

It pays to listen

There is always plenty of talk about the wonders of social media and far too many brands tend to jump straight in without first understanding exactly what it involves.

Social media takes time, patience, and vigilance to see and understand what consumers in your niche are talking about. If you take the time to find out, and then plan your marketing around potential consumers of your product, they will embrace you instead of ignoring you.

The brand is public

The power of the internet means that whether you like it or not, your brand will be in the social sphere, but are you? The interactive platforms that now exist and the large global market that has access to anything you publish online means that you no longer have full control over your marketing message, or what people see.

Recognizing this fact and being prepared to act can save you from a potentially damaging turn of events. It can help to ensure that you attract the kind of publicity that you want.

Don’t forget a personality

Social media will work more effectively for you if your brand has at least some trace of a personality. You need to find a way to humanize your company, build a relationship with your consumers and gain their trust. Let your consumers get to know what makes your brand special.

You should invite your customers to join in the company culture and share in what you have to offer. The average person is so tired of dishonest marketers that having an honest ‘friend’ will be like a breath of fresh air. You can use the trust that you gain to build a relationship, loyalty, and a connection.

Creativity usually wins

To be successful using social media you need to think outside the box a little. Consider Facebook or blogging as vessels for a productive conversation because having this kind of mindset will help you to be creative with your social strategy.

If you can think of creative new ways to connect with people online that are fun, or that create excitement, you will motivate consumers to talk and interact. This can give you a big advantage in the fight against peoples shortening attention spans. Try to think about what attracts you towards a particular brand.

The more popular social media becomes, the more likely it is that a brand needs to copy what someone else has already done. That’s why it’s so important to understand the fundamentals, so that you can develop a strategy for your specific brand.

How To Develop Your Article marketing Strategy

Once you fully understand the power of article marketing and the importance of developing an effective article marketing strategy, you will realise the potential for being able to create an endless flow of people who come to take a look at your product or service. No matter what it is that you’re marketing, article writing has the power to entice your readers to learn more about your topic.

What Is Article Marketing

In it’s most simple form, the basic method of article marketing goes something like this:

1, Write an article related to the products or services that you offer. Include some form of link or contact details that allow readers to take a closer look at your product or service if they choose.

2, Make the article appealing by using a catchy title and make sure that the body of the article arouses interest by making it easy to understand and relevant to your title. Include a call to action towards the end.

3, Publish your article using a reliable article marketing service that is likely to gain the most exposure. Use techniques such as social bookmarking to increase awareness and increase the number of people that know about it.

The Aim of Your Article Marketing Strategy

The main purpose of any good article marketing strategy is obviously to attract potential customers to a business. Most of us don’t like to be sold to, instead we prefer to make the decision to buy, or at least feel that we’ve made the decision. Effective article marketing strategies provide a neat way to find and attract the right kind of people.

You Wouldn’t Expect This

I decided to make this post for two reasons. Firstly, because at a time when the news seems filled with stories of economic hardship and world problems, we sometimes forget the more pleasurable things that life should really be about. Secondly, as well as being inspirational, this video also has a relevance for business owners.

I first saw the video below over at outspoken media on a post by Lisa Barone ‘The Power of The Unexpected’ Once you have watched it you will understand why it has attracted more than 18 million of viewers.

Please let me know your thoughts about the video and how it makes you feel. It made me laugh, almost brought me to tears, but most of all filled me with happiness.

Special thanks to Jill and Kevin for releasing such a fantastic video. Read about their story

Introduction to Email Marketing

Email marketing is a very easy and powerful way to run your own marketing campaigns. Creating a newsletter and building a list of loyal subscribers is common practise among successful online entrepreneurs and helps them to establish a constant stream of income.

The basic steps to setting up an email marketing campaign are as follows:

Email Newsletter

One of the most popular forms of email marketing is to create an engaging email newsletter that offers valuable information to your subscribers. This can help your business to build credibility and help you to gain the trust of potential customers.

Signup Form

Signup forms can quickly be created and added to your website, making it easy for visitors to subscribe to your newsletter. These forms also enable you to capture the email address that your subscriber wants the newsletter to be delivered to.

Autoresponders

Autoresponder messages can welcome your new subscribers, educate them about your products, and help you to start building a relationship with them which will increase the chances of them visiting your site again in the future.

Email Management Services

There are email management services that enable you to automate this whole process and monitor the performance of your various campaigns. Good email management services are not expensive and usually provide excellent tutorials along with reliable customer support.

Some of the core features that you would expect from a good service are as follows:

The capacity for unlimited email campaigns.

Selection of ready made email templates.

Good email deliverability rates.

Efficient customer service department.

Email Web Analytics.

Three Proven Ways to Generate New Business

You can have the best product or service in the world. You can produce the perfect sales letter that could sell meat to a vegetarian. But if you fail to get any prospects to read your offer, you won’t achieve sales.

That’s why marketing is so crucial, and why as marketers we need to put so much time and effort into getting our offers in front of targeted leads. Establishing exactly which marketing methods work best makes this whole process pretty straight forward and much less complicated than you might think.

Here are three proven tactics that can quickly be implemented

#1: Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is in its infancy and it’s set to explode in the coming years! Those who take the time now to set up their social marketing campaigns are the ones who will gain the greatest reward.

Social media marketing is all about building relationships with others and building networks or lists of relevant contacts. Building a good reputation in your niche and establishing yourself as an expert, will enable you to fully leverage your reputation as Social media marketing starts to experience rapid growth.

So where do you start? Well why not start with some of the biggest social media sites, including:

* Web 2.0 content sites, like Squidoo.com which allow you to create one-page websites around niche topics. Google tends to love this kind of site and crawls their pages often.

* Social networking sites like Facebook.com where you can focus on finding or creating niche-specific groups. You might also want to look for niche-specific networking sites.

* Social bookmarking sites, like Digg.com allow users to share content. They can be used as a great tool in your viral marketing campaigns.

#2: Search Engine Marketing

There are two main ways to generate targeted traffic from the search engines. Traffic is the common term used for visitors to a website and is a crucial element of online marketing.

* By ranking well for certain keywords and therefor showing up well in the organic search engine results.

* By using methods such as pay per click marketing in order to appear in the search engine’s sponsored results (for example, Google AdWords).

Both of these tactics should be included in your marketing toolkit. That’s because once you get your pages indexed, organic search engine results can provide traffic for months (and even years). On the flip side, pay per click marketing allows you to get highly targeted traffic very quickly but can become expensive unless you are skilled at doing it correctly.

#3: Buying Ads

Placing targeted ads is yet another way to get your offers in front of eager prospects. You can do this using both online and offline methods, including:

* Purchasing banner and text ads on highly targeted niche sites.

* Using solo ads in highly targeted niche ezines.

* Buying blog ads.

* Buying ads in offline publications, including niche magazines and the related topics of daily newspapers.

This isn’t so much a case of choosing which method is right for you or choosing the one tactic that provides the best results. All three of these tactics are proven, time-tested marketing methods. They can all be used together as part of your overall marketing strategy.

While powerful, these three main advertising methods are just the tip of the marketing iceberg. When you unleash them alongside other equally powerful marketing methods, you’ll create an endless flow of qualified leads.
